TELEMATICS DEVICE (PLUG-IN):

Do I need a telematics Device?

If you are aged 21 to 75 with 2 years or more no claims bonus you will not require a telematics box

Will I have a telematics device to plug into my car?

Yes, you will receive a telematics device via the post once you have set up their Peugeot Just Add Fuel Telematics Insurance Policy.

When will I get the telematics device?

You will get the device up to 14 days after you have set up the Jut Add Fuel Telematics Insurance policy.

Will the telematics device damage the car?

The telematics device will not damage the car provided it is fitted correctly in the car's OBD port. There are instructions on how to install the device on the Peugeot Telematics Portal. Your Hartwell Peugeot dealership will be happy to help if you have any trouble fitting the device.

What happens if the telematics device doesn't work?

If there's a problem with the telematics device that can't be fixed remotely, you can send the telematics device back in the pre-paid envelope and a new one will be sent.

What happens if I don't plug the telematics device into the car's OBD port?

It is a condition of the insurance policy that the device is plugged into the car's OBD port. If you don't do this within 35 days of receiving the telematics device, a letter will be sent to your last known address giving 21 days' notice that you Peugeot Just Add Fuel Telematics Insurance Policy will be cancelled.

What happens if I tamper with the telematics device?

If you tamper with the telematics device, Peugeot reserves the right to cancel your Peugeot Just Add Fuel Telematics Insurance policy. A letter will be sent to your last known address giving 21 days' notice that you Peugeot Just Add Fuel Telematics Insurance Policy will be cancelled.

How do I access the Peugeot Telematics Portal?

When you set up your Peugeot Just Add Fuel Telematics Insurance policy, you will be asked for your email address. After the policy has been set up, you will receive a welcome email within 7 days with login details for the Peugeot Telematics Portal.

What happens if I change my email address?

What data is going to be collected?

The telematics device will capture and send the customer's specific location, direction and current speed amongst other factors to the supplier's server and the information will be used to understand the road type, road speed and other conditions relating to your journey. This information will be used to build up a profile of how, where and when the car is driven.

The device will also collect vehicle and battery health data using the car's built-in diagnostic systems and manufacturer information.

What will be done with the data collected?

The data collected by the telematics device will be used to score every journey that is completed in the car. The driving score for each journey will range from 1 to 100. 100 is the best achievable score and 1 is the worst.

How will I be informed of my driving score?

You can access your Peugeot Telematics Portal at any time to see your average driving score for the your current three weekly period and your over driving score the current policy year. You will also be able to see a breakdown of how each journey you have completed has been scored.

How does my score impact my Peugeot Just Add Fuel Telematics Insurance Policy?

If your average score for a three-week period falls below the driving score threshold, you will be issued with a formal warning via an email to your elected email address and a letter to your last known address.

If you receive FOUR WARNINGS in a policy year, your Just Add Fuel Telematics insurance policy will be cancelled. In the event of such cancellation, you will be given 21 days' notice in writing to your last known address.

Where can I find the driving score threshold i.e the minimum score I can achieve without receiving a warning?

The dashboard page of the your Peugeot Telematics Portal will display what score triggers a warning.

GENERAL:

How do I cancel my participation in the Peugeot Just Add Fuel Telematics scheme?

Having your driving tracked is a condition of your Peugeot Just Add Fuel Telematics Insurance Policy. If you no longer wish to have your driving tracked, you will have to cancel your police. If you wish to do this, you should call the Peugeot Just Add Fuel Telematics Insurance team on 0345 850 8134.

What happens if I change my car?

You must call the Peugeot Just Add Fuel Telematics Insurance team on 0345 850 8134 to inform them you are changing your car. The Peugeot Just Add Fuel Telematics Insurance policy is only available on the Peugeot 108 model purchased through a Peugeot Just Add Fuel finance agreement from participating Peugeot Dealers if you install and use the telematics device. If you change the your car before your Peugeot Just Add Telematics Insurance policy expires, and your new car does not meet these criteria, you policy will have to be cancelled.

What happens if my car is written off?

If your car is written off and you want to continue on the Just Add Fuel Telematics scheme, you can do so providing your new car is a Peugeot 108 model purchased through a Peugeot Just Add Fuel finance agreement from a participating Peugeot Dealer. You must call Peugeot Just Add Fuel Telematics Insurance on 0345 850 8134 to inform them that you have replaced your car. If you have removed your telematics device from your previous car, you can just plug it into the OBD port in your new car.

Will my information be shared with the police?

If your car is stolen and located, the current location information might be shared with the police and other relevant law enforcement/fraud prevention agencies so that it can be recovered. Data will only be shared in other circumstances if needed by law.

Will I be able to see any of the information from the telematics device on the web site or app?

Yes, you will be able to track your own data on the Peugeot Telematics Portal.

What happens if I break the speed limit?

All drivers are strongly advised to obey the Highway Code and drive in accordance with the law. The speed at which you drive influences your driving score.

What happens when my Peugeot Just Add Fuel Telematics Insurance policy expires after 3 years?

You may be given the option to continue insuring your car on an annual policy with Peugeot Insurance subject to the standard underwriting criteria. A letter will be sent 21 days before the end of your third year to inform you of the price for this annual policy.

Will my driving scores affect the premium I am quoted to remain insured with Peugeot Insurance after my Peugeot Just Add Fuel Telematics insurance policy expires?

Your driving performance and the driving scores you receive throughout their Peugeot Just Add Fuel Telematics policy may impact the premium you are quoted to continue insuring your car with Peugeot Insurance. If it's possible to offer you the option to insure your car insurance with Peugeot Insurance, a letter will be sent 21 days in advance of your policy expiring to you offer you a quote.

Will the telematics aspect of my policy continue if I choose to remain insured with Peugeot Insurance after my Peugeot Just Add Fuel Telematics insurance policy expires?
